It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael (Mike) O’Sullivan of Gearhies, Bantry, Cork, who unexpectedly left us on August 26, 2025. Mike was a cherished son, father, partner, brother, uncle, and a beloved member of his community. His loss leaves a significant void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Who Was Michael (Mike) O’Sullivan? A Life of Love and Kindness

Mike was the beloved son of Mary (née O’Sullivan) and the late Thomas (Big Tom) O’Sullivan. He was a devoted father to Troloch, Zo, and Glenn, and a loving partner and best friend to Adrian. Mike’s warmth, kindness, and genuine nature touched everyone he encountered. His family was his greatest source of pride, and he always prioritized their happiness and well-being.

A Loving Brother and Family Man

Mike was also a caring brother and brother-in-law to John, Mags, Julie, Rose, Elli, Tom, Koni, Bridge, Danny, and Paddy. He was a treasured uncle, nephew, and friend to many, leaving behind a legacy of generosity and unwavering support for those he loved. His presence brought comfort and strength to his extended family and the entire Bantry community.

Funeral and Memorial Service Details

To honor Mike’s life, a Requiem Mass will be held on Saturday, August 30, at 12:00 noon at St. Finbarr’s Church, Bantry. The service will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person. Following the Mass, burial will take place in the local cemetery in Bantry.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the Vigil Prayers at Coughlan’s Funeral Home, Chapel Street, Bantry, on Friday, August 29, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
